On June 17th, Kozminski University hosted its inaugural event – a debate organized by the first Student Philanthropy Club – Kozminski Philanthropy Hub:
“The Endowment Fund as a Tool for University Management.”

This meeting demonstrated that philanthropy, business, science, and the academic community can work together to build a stable future for education. Thanks to diverse perspectives – from research, business, non-governmental, financial, and student viewpoints – participants were able to see the Endowment Fund not only as a financial tool but as a genuine response to the changing environment and systemic challenges facing both the business and educational sectors in Poland and around the world.
What resonated most during the event:
• We showed how, together, we can create lasting mechanisms to support education and young talents.
• We explained what the Endowment Fund is and what its key features are – such as inviolability, perpetuity, and transparency in its management, especially in the context of university governance.
• We discussed the challenges related to creating an endowment fund and how crucial trust and understanding are to this idea.
• The exchange of experiences and ideas already opened up new areas for future discussions and meetings.
• It was an opportunity to learn that you don’t need to be a multimillionaire or wait for special circumstances to become a donor – time and commitment are also of great value.
This is just the beginning – we invite you to follow the activities of the Philanthropy Club and join upcoming debates and initiatives.
We would like to thank all debate participants and our guests:
Malwina Pawłowska, Katarzyna Alińska, Dr. Antoni Kolek, Michał Majewski, Oliwier Plamowski, Oskar Kobierecki.
