The Foundation’s Board is the body that develops annual plans of action and financial plans. It manages the Foundation’s activity and represents it in the relationships with the external environment. It is appointed for a four-year term. The Foundation’s current Board was appointed in June 2023.

Sylwia Hałas-Dej, PhD

President of the Board of the KU Development Foundation
Kozminski Executive Business School Dean

Dean of Kozminski Executive Business School, in charge of postgraduate and MBA programmes. Involved with KU since 2000. Her many years of experience in designing study programmes enable her to work with business and respond to the individual needs of different companies. She also lends her experience to support other talent-oriented initiatives — both as a member of the Programme and Scientific Council of the LifeSkills High School, the Program Council of the LiderShe Academy of Women’s Leadership postgraduate programme, Member of the Supervisory Board of Międzynarodowa Szkoła Zarządzania, and Member of the Chapter of the “Kozminski Lions” award. She has been an international accreditor of MBA programmes as part of the Association of MBAs (AMBA, London) for over ten years.

Professor Dorota Dobija, PhD, DSc

Professor of economic sciences. Expert in accounting, corporate governance, and ESG. Chartered accountant. Business coach. Member of supervisory boards of institutions operating in the finance sector. Fulbright Program scholarship holder. Head of the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Kozminski University. Visiting professor teaching at many schools and universities in the USA and Europe. Coordinator of a number of national and international research projects dealing with corporate governance and financial and non-financial reporting. Winner of many prizes and awards, holder of many academic distinctions. She’s an author of a number of publications on accounting, finance, intellectual capital management, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility.

KU Professor Jacek Tomkiewicz, PhD, DSc

Habilitated doctor of economic sciences, Kozminski University professor. Dean of the College of Finance and Economics and Research Director of the TIGER Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research Center. He gained experience as e.g. the Advisor to the Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, being in charge of structural reforms in the system of public finance. He taught at the European Institute of Public Administration and the European Centre for Public Finance Management. As a so-called “visiting scholar”, he lectured at foreign institutions such as Stanford University, Columbia University, Harvard University in the US, and the OECD in Paris. To this day, he is a visiting professor at several European higher education institutions. Author of publications and expert studies on macroeconomics and public finance.

Paweł Wnuczak, PhD

Assistant professor at the Department of Finance of Kozminski University. In his academic work, he deals extensively with corporate finance, value management, and controlling systems. Participant in many prestigious scientific conferences, author of many peer-reviewed articles published in e.g. Finance Research Letters, Eastern European Economics, Economic Research-Ekonomska Istraživanja, Contemporary Economics, and Journal of Management and Business Administration. Central Europe. Author of the book “Controlling in Cultural Institutions”. Winner of an NSC grant and of the Minister of Science and Higher Education award for achievements serving as the basis for the conferment of a doctoral degree in the form of a dissertation. Recipient of Kozminski University’s distinction for the overall academic and research activity.

The Foundation Council is a decision-making body, but it also provides advice on and supervises the Foundation’s activities. It is appointed for a five-year term. Members of the Council are the Foundation’s Benefactors and individuals who have significantly contributed to its establishment and development.

Zbigniew Jagiełło

Longtime Chairman of the Management Board of PKO Bank Polski S.A., currently Member of the Supervisory Board of Ukraine’s PrivatBank. He has been involved in finance for more than twenty-five years, gaining and lending his experience in the management structures of Pioneer Pekao TFI, Pioneer Investments, and PKO/Credit Suisse TFI. Actively engaged in the development and promotion of high standards of operation in the financial market in Poland. Member of the Council of the Polish Bank Association and the prestigious Institut International D’Etudes Bancaires, which acts as a platform that brings together the international banking community. Awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta by the President of the Republic of Poland and honoured with the Social Solidarity Medal. Graduate of Wroclaw University of Technology, Gdansk Foundation for Management Development, and the University of Gdańsk’s MBA programme certified by Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Winner of many prizes and awards, holder of many distinctions.

Professor Andrzej K. Koźmiński, PhD, DSc

Co-founder and first long-term Rector of Kozminski University; currently its Honorary President. Corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, full professor, economist and sociologist. Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Szczecin (2015) and ESCP Europe Business School (2017). Author of over 50 books on management published in various languages, teacher and lecturer at a number of Polish and foreign universities, academic supervisor of many prominent scholars. Member of many supervisory boards. Awarded e.g. the Knight’s Cross, the Officer’s Cross, and the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.

KU Professor Aleksandra Przegalińska-Skierkowska, PhD, DSc

Philosopher, researcher of the development of new technologies — especially green and sustainable technologies, humanoid artificial intelligence, social robots, and wearable technologies. She received her PhD degree in the discipline of philosophy from the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw in 2014. She’s a graduate of the New School for Social Research in New York, where she took part in research on identity in virtual reality — with a particular focus on Second Life.

KU Professor Mariola Ciszewska-Mlinarič, PhD, DSc

KU Professor, Dean of the College of Management, Director of the Research Center for Innovative Growth Strategies, and Director of the “Company Growth Strategies” postgraduate programme. She is a member of leading academic organisations, including the Academy of International Business and the Strategic Management Society. Author and co-author of numerous publications, with experience in strategic consulting for Polish and international companies. She teaches and gives lectures not only in Poland, but also at universities in Austria, France, Slovenia, and China. Awarded the medal of the National Education Commission for special contribution to education and upbringing.

KU Professor Marcin Piątkowski, PhD, DSc

Assistant Professor at the TIGER Research Center, teacher of economics at Kozminski University, and Senior Economist at the World Bank in Warsaw. He has worked as Chief Economist at PKO BP, Economist at the European Department, Advisor to the Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, and Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Republic of Poland. Economic commentator, columnist for Polish and international newspapers and magazines. Research interests: Polish and global economy, fiscal policy, information society, foreign policy.

KU Professor Bolesław Rok, PhD, DSc

An expert who blazes trails and sets trends in ethics and corporate social responsibility – both within the framework of scientific and training projects, as well as working with business, public administration, and NGOs. He specialises in sustainable management and positive impact entrepreneurship. He effectively and successfully combines practice with theory. He has authored or co-authored a number of books and participated in many research programmes. Involved with Kozminski University as an academic teacher, head of the Positive Impact Entrepreneurship Research Center, coordinator of the “CSR. Sustainable Development Goals in Business Strategy” postgraduate programme, and Rector’s proxy for sustainable transformation.
